Most of the time, NBA mascots don’t get injured but sadly, we have to add a fallen hero to the NBA mascot injury list as the Toronto Raptor tore his ACL and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Here is more information on that injury from the fine folks over at Canoe.Ca:
The Raptor himself, the beloved franchise mascot and ironman has been lost for the season due to a torn Achilles suffered during a school visit in Halifax over the weekend.
The team says he will have surgery soon and a backup plan is being worked on.
Head coach Dwane Casey says his daughter cried when told of the injury and said the Raptor is a valued member of the organization who will be back.
To note, this will be the first season that the Raptor has missed due to injury.
