Following Michael Jordan’s return to the NBA after leaving to play baseball, the Chicago Bulls in the 1995-1996 season went on a historic run setting the record for most wins in a season with 72.
At a Bulls Insider event a member of the record breaking team and All-Star in his own right, Scottie Pippen, joked that the reason for their record that year was to impress Jordan upon his return to the organization:
.@ScottiePippen on the 72 win season… "We wanted to make sure Michael knew he was coming back to a good team."
