Let’s face it, we all like a little bit of pizza from time-to-time but it appears that New Orleans Pelicans second-year man Anthony Davis is a huge fan of the ‘za.
Recently, Pelicans head coach Monty Williams did a radio interview with Jim Rome and one of the topics that came up was Anthony’s love of pizza:
“It’s almost like you can do a show on the kid and pizza,” Williams told The Jim Rome Show. “I mean, when you say ‘P’ in the word ‘pizza,’ he perks up. I’ve never seen anyone like that and I like pizza just like anyone else.”
Williams first took note of Davis’ love affair for the Italian dish at the NBA Pre-Draft Camp in 2012.
“He and I decided to sit down and talk and watch a game and I bought some pizza,” said the coach. “He and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and I and one of our assistants sat for about 3 or 4 hours, and the kid ate pizza just about the whole time.”
“It was cool for me to get to know him,” said Williams. “But I was looking at him out of the side of my eye a little bit. I’m like ‘this is not like, this is past a fascination, this is like he loves eating dough, cheese, and tomato sauce in ways you and I can only imagine.’”
I think we should never discount Anthony Davis love of pizza ever again.
