Remember that episode of the Twilight Zone where the female adult entertainer is admitted to a hosptial and has a constant dream of going to the morgue with a nurse saying, “Room For One More, Honey?”
Well, recently I started having this dream about being on an operating table while this huge man watches over me. Then, I found this story about Pau Gasol observing a spinal procedure at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and then everything started to make sense.
We get more from the Business Wire:
After clinching the world title in game seven, Los Angeles Laker Pau Gasol is setting his sights on another victory: raising awareness and support for pediatric research and medicine at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
On June 24, Gasol donned scrubs—which were special-ordered for his seven-foot frame—and observed a highly complex spinal procedure at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles where Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery, David Skaggs, MD, corrected a 13-year-old patient’s scoliosis.
Well, that’s good for Mr. Gasol to be raising support for these causes and living out a childhood dream along with it.
I do feel bad for the kid though, if he woke up during the operation to this scene:
