Earlier today, we noted that the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2016 will travel to the Great White North of Canada and be held in Toronto.
For those of you wondering where the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend will be held, it will most likely be in New York City but in another NBA historic moment, the Nets and Knicks could co-host the event.
The fine folks over at Newsday have the full story:
The NBA will announce at a news conference Wednesday that the Knicks and Nets will jointly host the 2015 All-Star Weekend, a league source said.
The All-Star Game will be played Sunday at Madison Square Garden, according to the source. The Barclays Center in Brooklyn will be the site of the Friday and Saturday events, including the Rising Stars Challenge, three-point shootout and slam dunk competition, the source said.
The NBA chose New York because the two teams boast new or transformed arenas. The Garden is completing its third and final stage of a $1-billion transformation, and the Barclays Center opened last fall.
