A couple weeks ago, Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson, Warriors GM Bob Myers, assistant coach Brian Scalabrine along with a host of others front office members got a chance to play some pick-up hoops at San Quentin prison in California.
Below is a video taken by folks over at Inside Bay Area which shows the inmates playing against Marc along with the other front office members:
After visiting with the prisoners, Jackson made many positive words to say about his experience at San Quentin Prison with the inmates:
“I just want people to know these are regular folks that made a mistake, some greater than others,” says Jackson, panting as he leaves the court. “They deserve to have somebody put an arm around ‘em, high-five ‘em, and remind ‘em that life ain’t over.”
“People say stuff like, ‘Be careful in there.’ I just want folks to understand that these are our brothers, our cousins, our uncles and our dads,” Jackson said.
