Just when it looked like that the Los Angeles Lakers were on the 2013 playoff fast track, star guard Kobe Bryant suffered a severe injury against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.
As Los Angeles trailed by two in the waning moments of the game, Kobe was being guarded by Dahntay Jones and attempted a game-tying shot that ended up rimming out.
While Atlanta’s Kyle Korver was being fouled, Bryant was laying on the ground with a severely sprained left ankle after he collided with Jones during the conclusion of the shot:
After the game, Kobe had this to say about the play that he got injured on:
“That’s a shot I’m very comfortable taking,” Bryant said. “You just can’t go under these shooters, man. It’s a dangerous play.”
