Another NBA player that did really well in the 2014 FIBA World Cup on Sunday was the starting center of the Toronto Raptors, Jonas Valanciunas. He helped Lithuania beat New Zealand in a close game, 76-71, as they advanced to the quarterfinals. Jonas went for 22 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks as he showed quite the repertoire. Check out the video here:
Valanciunas showed some nice touch in the perimeter, dunked on a few fools, and was dusting others in the post. He was also a monster on the boards. Lithuania is so glad to have him on the roster. And I imagine that the Toronto Raptors are encouraged with this performance.
Lithuania will face off against 2010 FIBA runner-ups Turkey in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
