I’ve seen some pretty bizarre endings over the years in the NBA but Tuesday night’s Phoenix Suns/Houston Rockets game had an ending that I had never seen before.
With the score tied at 98, Houston’s James Harden attempted a game-winning three pointer that ended up falling short as time expired and the game appeared to be heading to an extra frame.
However, Phoenix Suns forward Jermaine O’Neal accidentally touched the net and rim while going for the rebound of the shot. Under NBA rules, that’s basket interference and gave Houston a 101-98 win:
The victory clinched a playoff berth for Houston and will most likely be one of the most controversial endings in NBA history.
