It wouldn’t be a week here on That NBA Lottery Pick without a post about Metta World Peace and recently, Metta’s brother Daniel dropped an interesting comment during an interview with the New York Post.
Apparently, Daniel met Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich one day and Pop expressed a want to have Metta on his squad:
“I finally met Popovich, told him I was a big Spurs fan and he said he always liked Ron on his team,’’ Artest said. “I relayed the message, tried to convince [World Peace], but my brother didn’t believe me.’’
In the same Post interview, Daniel commented that the Knicks made a good decision in picking up his brother since they did not have that “defensive goon” last season:
“They’ve got a good team but they never had that goon — that defensive goon last season,’’ Daniel told The Post from his home in Indianapolis. “Someone that’s not afraid. If Ron was on the team, they would have gotten past the Pacers.”
