As the Minnesota Timberwolves will have a new outlook for the upcoming season, one of the new faces with the squad will be Andrew Wiggins after being acquired from the Cavaliers for Kevin Love.
Recently, Wiggins was interviewed at a voluntary team workout regarding the amount of pressure that he felt to be Minnesota’s franchise player and provided the below response as noted by Dime Magazine:
I don’t really feel like it’s too much pressure right now. I’ve been through being the number one player in high school, in college, all that stuff. So, pressure to me has really died down; I don’t feel it as much as I used to.
In the same interview, Wiggins was asked about playing for the Timberwolves organization and noted that he felt it gave him more freedom:
I think it’s a great situation whenever I think about it. It gives me more freedom. I’m sure surrounded by young guys that have the same intentions and determinations as me – to really win and get better every day.
We will see if Wiggins can live up to the hype for the Timberwolves.
