Paul Pierce and Michael Beasley Allegedly Had Asthma Issues In China

Previously on That NBA Lottery Pick, we mentioned that Paul Pierce and Michael Beasley are overseas in China playing in the International Basketball Championships.

During one of the tournament's games, both Beasley and Pierce were unable to play due to asthma problems:

We get more from NiuBBall.com:

While playing in Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang province… Pierce and Beasley both suffered asthma attacks due to large amounts of fans smoking cigarettes inside the stadium. After the game, things got even more shocking when Beasley fell to the floor in his hotel and started to roll around in obvious pain, scaring everyone around half-to-death. At that point, there was no choice but to dial 120 (the number for an ambulance in China) and take him to the hospital.

Hopefully, Michael Beasley is okay because that sounded like a pretty scary incident but I'm not so sure if Pierce has asthma problems since this was his response on Facebook.

Ron Artest Will Donate Dancing With The Stars Earning To Charity

With the news that Ron Artest is actually on the roster for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, many of us wondered why he decided to do it after denying it multiple times.

It turns out that Artest's eight-year old daughter Diamond talked him into it and that he donating the earnings he makes on Dancing wit the Stars to the Cancer Research Foundation.

We get more from The Los Angeles Times:

"She said, 'Daddy, you can do it,' " Artest recalled Monday in a phone interview. "It's going to be fun."

It wasn't just a case of Artest being unable to say no to his daughter. At age 4 in 2007, Diamond was diagnosed with wilms tumor, Artest said, a kidney cancer that affects children. So in honor of his daughter successfully fighting the illness, Artest said he plans to donate the money he earns on "Dancing with the Stars" to the Cancer Research Foundation.

That will include the $125,000 Artest said he's making for appearing on the show beginning Sept. 19 and any additional money he earns should he advance in each round.

"That's the only reason I'm doing it," Artest said. "I'm doing it for a cause."

Recently, Gilbert Arenas was trying to block his wife from appearing on the television show, "Basketball Wives of LA" by using the federal court system.

Sadly for Gilbert, he lost the case and it appears to be his Twitter feed which did him in:

A judge ruled against the NBA star's request to block Laura Govan from appearing on the show and mentioning his name.

The judge said Gilbert's claim that details of his family life should not be aired on the reality show -- is undercut by the fact he has "tens of thousands of Twitter users who follow [him] as he tweets about a variety of mundane occurrences."

Clippers Star Blake Griffin Is A Funny Or Die Intern

The NBA is still in lockout mode and many players are trying to use their time as wisely as possible.

One of those players is Clippers star Blake Griffin who decided to take an internship with the website, "Funny or Die". We get more from ESPN Los Angeles:

Griffin said he's a big comedy fan and an avid viewer of Funny Or Die. As an intern, he hopes to learn more about film production.

"Just to get an inside look at how things are run here is exciting to me," Griffin said by phone Tuesday. "I don't know what interns at Funny Or Die are like, but I'm about to find out, I guess."

The Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries Wedding After Party Got Crazy Enough To Have The Police Called

Over the weekend, Nets forward Kris Humphries got married to reality starlet Kim Kardashian and on the joyous day, it appeared that nothing would damper the moment.

Except for the neighbors who were not too pleased with the noise from the reception/afterparty as we learn from the CBS News:

Kim Kardashian's weekend wedding kept the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office busy.

Officer Drew Sugars says the Saturday evening ceremony brought 22 calls into the station, mostly complaints from neighbors about loud music and helicopters overhead.

Here is an insider's account from the New York Post:

A source told us, “Around midnight DJ Cassidy, who had been spinning for an hour, was ordered to shut down because the neighbors were complaining about the volume of the music. The neighbors didn’t come over, but they called the police. Kim took the news OK and seemed relaxed about it, but her sister Khloe was pretty upset and making a bit of a scene. She kept talking to the wedding planner to see if there was anything they could do, but there wasn’t. But the party kept going anyway and most people stayed until about 2 a.m. Despite the early end to the dancing, everyone had a great time, and Kim looked beautiful and very happy.”

Woah Woah Woah! A party with loud music going to midnight...I expected more from the Kardashians.

The Kim Kardashian/Kris Humphries Got Paid Well For Their Marriage

For those of you who didn't witness the wedding event of the decade between Nets forward Kris Humphries and his reality show wife Kim Kardashian, you'll have to wait for all the juicy details since not much is being revealed regarding the event as of yet.

The one thing that is being revealed is how much money the couple made on the marriage which at the end of the day is a pretty penny to say the least:

The buxom reality-TV diva and her basketball-playing hubby, Kris Humphries, raked in a lot more than a few toasters when they tied the knot last night -- scoring about $17.9 million by turning the ceremony into a media extravaganza.

The exclusive photo rights to the Hollywood super nuptials were sold to People magazine for $2.5 million, a source told The Post.

However, we knew that the Kardashian's would be making most of their moolah through the wedding special:

Their biggest payout will come from turning last night's ceremony into a four-hour, two-part TV spectacular called "Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event," which will air on E! in October.

The special is expected to pull in $12 million to $15 million for the Kardashian family franchise and for the show's producer, Ryan Seacrest.

Kobe Bryant and Other Lakers Donate Money To Fired Staff

With the NBA still in lockout mode, many NBA team staff members lost their jobs due to the economic state of the league.

Members of the Los Angeles Lakers that included Derek Fisher/Kobe Bryant and Luke Walton decided to help out some of those members of their staff by donating some of their playoff money to them and giving them financial gifts:

Kobe Bryant insisted on giving some of the team's playoff bonus to two members of the Lakers' video department whose contracts were not renewed after the season. Chris Bodaken and Patrick O'Keefe split about $65,000 of the Lakers' playoff bonus.

Bryant and Derek Fisher, Lakers' captains last season, voted to give some of the playoff money to Bodaken and O'Keefe.

Lakers reserve forward Luke Walton took an extra step after the season by providing individual financial gifts to members of the training staff.

"They're a huge part of our team," said Walton, who did not specify how much he gave. "When they got laid off, this was a way to let them know that we appreciate them. It was something to help them through what was already a tough time."

NBA 2K12 Greatest Mode To Include Wilt/Kareem/West/Dr J And A Slew Of Others

Previously on That NBA Lottery Pick, we mentioned that 2k Sports, "NBA 2K12" would build on last year's Jordan Challenge with this year's, "Greatest Ever Mode" which would featured 15 NBA legends.

We didn't know who they were until yesterday, here is the full list from the guys over at Kotaku:

First, the list of legends. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Julius Erving were confirmed for the game a couple weeks ago. They will be joined by Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Isiah Thomas, Hakeem Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen, John Stockton and Karl Malone.

"NBA's Greatest" will pit gamers, playing as the legend's team, against another team from that same year. The games will not necessarily be historic recreations of specific moments, like last year's "Jordan Challenge." Winning the game unlocks both teams for use throughout all the rest of NBA 2K12's modes.
