Lebron James Skips Miami Heat Introductions In Cleveland

As noted in the post below this one, Lebron James made his second trip back to Cleveland, Ohio but was shockingly absent during the pregame introductions:

Huh, I've never seen that before, I wonder why he did that? Oh, maybe it was because of this:

In the end, the Cavaliers got the last laugh by beating Miami, 102-90.

Lebron Returns To Cleveland, Part 2: Lebron, "It's Can't Get Worse Than December 2nd"

It's been nearly four months since Lebron James played his first game back in Cleveland, Ohio after deserting the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat.

Well, let's not forget that James and the Heat have a second meeting with the Cavaliers on Tuesday Night. Lebron was recently asked if he thought the Cavalier Faithful would unleash the same amount of venom, they directed at him from his last appearance and Mr. James thought it would be a little different.

We get more from The Akron-Beacon Journal:

As James returns to Quicken Loans Arena Tuesday night for the second time as a member of the Miami Heat, what's left?

''It can't get no worse than it was December 2,'' James told Miami reporters. ''I know that. I know that for a fact.''

Perhaps it was the way James manhandled the Cavs in that first meeting, the Cavs' miserable season since or the drastic turnover on their roster, but for whatever reason, interest in this game is down. Even Cavs coach Byron Scott senses it from his dealings in the community.

''When I first got here, it was almost everywhere I went, which is understandable,'' he said. ''I can't remember the last time somebody said something about LeBron to me the last three or four months. Even the fans have come to the realization that he's a Miami Heat and that's the way it is.''

Four months ago, James was deluged with ''Quitness'' T-shirts, chants of ''Akron hates you!'' and a sold-out arena that taunted and jeered his every move. It was a bubbling kettle of hate that superseded any other regular-season game in the history of the NBA.
Ah, that brought back some fond memories to say the least and good luck to Lebron on his second appearance back in Cleveland.

Grant Hill Loses NCAA Bet, Forced To Wear Arizona Wildcats Gear

For those of you that didn't have your NCAA bracket busted, you probably at least made a bet regarding our alma mater winning.

In the National basketball Association, it's no different. Phoenix Suns forward Grant Hill and Channing Frye made a friendly bet and sadly for Mr. Hill, he lost.

We get more from SB Nation Arizona:

Plenty of guys are proud of their schools, and Grant Hill and Channing Frye are no exception. The two, of course, had a bet on the outcome of the Sweet 16 meeting between Hill's Duke Blue Devils and Frye's Arizona Wildcats. As we now know, Frye and the Wildcats pummeled Duke.

As a result of their bet, Grant Hill has the honor and privilege of wearing Arizona Wildcat Blue and Red for the next two days. In his first opportunity to show off his new colors, Hill tried to slip out the back way of the US Airways Center and avoid the media that was waiting for him after Suns practice.

Emeka Okafor And Paul Millsap Provide The Circus Shots

During last night's Hornets/Jazz affair, the game featured two wild shots that somehow found the bottom of the net.

In the 4th quarter, Jazz forward Paul Millsap hit a prayer flipshot to cut into the New Orleans lead:

Then it appeared the Jazz would pull out the victory as Paul Millsap hit two clutch free throws to give the Jazz a two point lead with 1.3 seconds left. What could possibly go wrong? Emeka Okafor getting his own circus shot to tie the game:

The Hornets would pull out the victory in overtime by the score of 121-117.

The San Antonio Spurs Take In Lady Gaga Concert

The San Antonio Spurs might have the best record in the Western Conference but even they are awe-stuck when Lady GaGa comes to town.

Gaga is currently on her "Monster Ball Tour" which made a stop in San Antonio on Tuesday and a percentage of the team decided to make an appearance.

We get more from Spurs Nation:

Several Spurs, including Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, took in Tuesday’s concert at the AT&T Center by pop star Lady Gaga.

Parker and Ginobili tweeted about the show.

“It was great,” Parker said. “She’s a great performer. Yeah, I like her stuff.”

Parker could not verify if Ginobili, who was suffering some laryngitis on Wednesday, was suffering because he had cheered too loudly at the concert.

“I don’t know if he was screaming,” Parker said, “but he was moving his head. Half of the team (was there). It was good.”

One Spur who did not take in the show: McDyess, at 36 the team’s oldest player.

“No, not me,” he said. “I don’t even know one of her songs.”
Seriously if Antonio McDyess doesn't know a Lady GaGa song, everything is right with the world.

Want to Buy Scottie Pippen's Beanie Babies? You Can

In my life, I have been pulled to many estate sales but none of them for houses formerly owned by NBA players.

Scottie Pippen's former home in Shady Lane is having an estate sale where can some classic Scottie gear and even a couple more personal items.

We get more from Trib Local:

When the Chicago Bulls moved into the United Center in 1994, star forward Scottie Pippen was also building a new home for himself — a 21-room mansion in Highland Park.

The Bulls have remained on West Madison Street, but Pippen sold his Shady Lane digs on the North Shore two years later — leaving behind artwork, furniture, clothes, dolls, jewelry, and plenty of sports memorabilia.

The esoteric collection goes on sale this weekend, with the public invited to the 10,000 square feet home at 2320 Shady Lane from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, according to Sheryl Rue-Borden, who is handling the estate sale.

In the fully-finished basement, there are stacks of DVDs and black videotapes that were played on a home theater built into the wall in front of four black leather chairs. Nearby, sits a white Yamaha player piano and boxes of kids’ toys, including dozens of stuffed animals and three plastic tubs of Beanie Babies.

Upstairs, off the master bedroom, Barbie dolls still in their boxes and two 3-foot-tall dolls dressed in Victoria garb are among the many collectible dolls that will be sold this weekend.

Pippen’s former belongings are also sprinkled throughout the estate, according to Rue-Borden. They include dozens of pieces of modern art. He also left Bulls T-shirts, some of which are framed and autographed.
Obviously, those were probably his daughters beanie babies but for the Bulls fan that has everything. You might as well, grab that Princess the Bear before somebody else does.

Phil Jackson Compares Miami Heat To Those XBOX Video Games

Recently, everyone has been ragging on the recent troubles of the Miami Heat and Lakers head coach Phil Jackson has decided to throw his hat into the ring.

Before the Heat's loss to Portland, he told them that "Big Boys Don't Cry" and now before their match-up against the Lakers, Phil decide to prod them one more time.

We get more from TSN:

Phil Jackson has another thought on the Miami Heat: He doesn't like how they play.

Speaking Thursday before his Los Angeles Lakers visited Miami, Jackson likened the way the Heat play to an Xbox video game and said they rely too much on 1-on-1 basketball.

"I'm not a big fan of the style that Miami plays," Jackson said. "I like to see everybody involved in the game."

The Heat? Not so much, especially since there are long stretches where most of Miami's offence revolves around two or three players at the most, instead of the get-everyone-involved-when-possible approach Jackson prefers.

"I think that's really important to basketball," Jackson said. "That's what I'm trying to preach as a basketball coach, even though we have a guy that dominates the ball in Kobe (Bryant). Their basketball is very much standing with Xbox games or whatever those games are. Basketball's not a 1-on-1 game. It's a team game."
Personally, I think the Heat are more NBA Elite 11 than NBA 2k11.

The Golden State Warriors Will Host "Bollywood Night"

The one thing that you cannot say about the marketing team for the Golden State Warriors is that they are not creative.

For upcoming March 16th game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Warriors are hosting their first ever "Bollywood Night".

We get more from Larry Brown Sports:

The promotion includes a free Got Curry? shirt for the first 19,000 fans in attendance, $10 off all tickets, and a variety of Indian-themed entertainment.

The pregame performance will be by Aerodance, the national anthem will be performed by Anoop Desai, and the halftime performance by Bhangra Empire. Indian food will be available at concession stands, and Bollywood dances will be performed by the dance team.

However if they don't do a dance number to "Where's The Party Tonight", it's not Bollywood Night:
