Carmelo Anthony Now In Sandwich Form At Carnegie Deli

One of the perks of being Carmelo Anthony coming to New York City is that the world famous Carnegie Deli will name a sandwich after you.

We get more from CBS New York:
NBA foodies can wash down their elation while watching Carmelo Anthony’s MSG debut with the Melo Sandwich, a mixed-meat concoction cooked up by the famous Carnegie Deli.

According to TMZ, Carnegie’s has already launched the sandwich. But like Carmelo, it comes with a price.

$21.95, to be exact.

The towering delight is NBA sized, indeed. The Melo is overflowing with bacon, salami, corned beef, pastrami, tomato and russian dressing. And what better bread to layer the sandwich filling between than a New York City staple — hulking slices of rye bread.
Russian Dressing?, I guess even Mikhail Prokorov can enjoy this sandwich.

Gregg Popovich Is Bored With Winning So Much

The San Antonio Spurs are currently sitting at a 44-8 record and the overall number one seed in the Western Conference.

Sadly for head coach, Gregg Popovich, the season has now become a tedious bore due to the constant repetition of Spurs victories.

We get more from Spurs Nation:

For Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, the first 52 games of the season have played like his own personal Groundhog Day.

Every night, he dispatches the same starting lineup, uses mostly the same rotation, calls mostly the same plays, usually watches another Spurs’ victory, then goes home and eats dinner. Ho hum.

“It’s like I don’t have a job anymore,” Popovich said.

Popovich, it seems, has discovered a downside to a 44-8 record.

“It’s boring as hell,” he said.

The upside? Popovich says the Spurs’ apparent shift to autopilot has freed up more time for his real passions.

“Wine and reading,” Popovich said.
Man, I could totally picture Popovich sitting next to a fire with a glass of Merlot reading Johnathan Swift poetry with the Bachelor on.

The NBA and Marvel Comics Team Up For Apparel Line

Previously on That NBA Lottery Pick, we featured a story that the NBA and Marvel Comics have teamed up for a joint-venture.

That joint venture is? An apparel line that will be selling nationwide in the near future blending the NBA and Marvel characters.

We get more from Bloomberg Business Week:

What's big, green and has a history of being unstoppable? The incredible Hulk and the NBA's Boston Celtics.

Which is why Marvel Entertainment LLC and the National Basketball Association are launching a new line of clothing, including caps, T-shirts and sweatshirts at the upcoming NBA All-Star game later this month. The clothing line pairs famous super heroes with famous NBA teams, such as Spider-Man and the Knicks, and features an array of other heroes from Thor to Captain America in NBA team colors.
Sadly for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the ability to turn back time will not come as part of the deal.
