Kevin Love Wants Your All Star Vote and To Buy His Fake Cologne

Over the past couple of years, I have seen some rather interesting videos that some NBA players make to lobby for your all-star vote.

This year, Timberwolves forward Kevin Love might have had the best one and if that cologne was real, I'd buy it:

Phoenix Suns Entertainer Goes Through Hoop on Dunk Attempt

It's become commonplace in NBA teams to have dance teams or entertainers help pass the time for the fans at the game.

During Wednesday night's game in Phoenix, a member of the Phoenix Sol Patrol was attempting a dunk using a trampoline.

Sadly, he jumped a little high and actually went through the basket:

Kobe Bryant Becomes First Athlete Honored At Grauman's Chinese Theater

Usually, the Grauman Chinese Theater in Los Angeles is best known for the hand-prints and foot prints of famous television and movie stars.

However, they have made an exception for Lakers star Kobe Bryant. We get more from the Los Angeles Times:

As if he doesn't have enough accomplishments as a five-time NBA champion, two-time NBA Finals MVP, a Beijing Olympic gold medalist and the Lakers' all-time leading scorer, Kobe Bryant will become the first athlete to have his hand and foot imprinted at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

The ceremony will take place Feb. 19 as part of the festivities surrounding NBA All-Star weekend, preceding a gala thrown by Bryant that is expected to include at least 1,200 guests.
Sadly, Ruben Patterson will not be inducted as well.

Rashad McCants, Internet Web Series Actor

Previously on That NBA Lottery Pick (or a few seconds ago), we mentioned that Lebron James is getting his own web cartoon series.

Well, he isn't the only one who is coming up on the web series. Former NBA player, Rashad McCants is and let's just says it's interesting.

We get more from Jocks and Stiletto Jill:

I’m not quite sure where to begin on this. Former NBA forward Rashad McCants was attempting a come back via the D-League earlier in the season with the Texas Legends, that didn’t work and neither did a planned stint overseas playing for a team in China.

Instead Rashad decided to switch careers to Hollywood and film his acting debut. And WOW at his selection. Starring in a web series titled “Booster Club”, Rashad plays the Bisexual leader of a high end shoplifting ring, the series also stars former porn star Traci Lords.

Here is that trailer for your perusal:

Lebron James Now Has Internet Cartoon Series

Miami Heat star Lebron James has now taken to this whole interweb thing in the past couple of months.

He's on the Twitter and now is branching out to the world of internet cartoons.

We get more from CBS Sportsline:

Tuesday morning, we noted that Miami Heat forward LeBron James is launching an animated cartoon series on LeBronJames.com entitled "The LeBrons." The series stars four different versions of himself made famous in his Nike commercials.

James launched a YouTube channel on Monday, in which he describes the show's concept. "Oh, man, first of all, I'm just really excited about this show. 'The LeBrons.' It goes back to the four characters that I feel like I am on a day-to-day basis. You've got 'Kid LeBron,' you've got 'Athlete LeBron,' you've got 'Business LeBron' and you've got 'Wise,' kind of the mentor of the whole family. It's an exciting time for me to be able to get this out to, not only kids, but to everyone. Everyone is going to have an opportunity to relate to them. So just stay tuned, they're on their way."

Shaquille O'Neal Falls On Ice, "Snow Bad"

Boston Celtics center Shaquille O'Neal has been embracing the area of Boston during his time there but maybe he still isn't use to this whole snow thing.

O'Neal slipped on snow and might be questionable for tonight's game versus the Orlando Magic.

We get more from The Boston Herald:

There is a question, however, whether Shaquille O’Neal will be out there with him. Shaq slipped on some snow and ice this morning and injured an adductor muscle in his upper leg. He did not work out. …
I guess we can't start calling him "The Big Icicle" now.

Cleveland Cavaliers Change Hotels Because Of Miami Heat?!?

In the world that is the National Basketball Association, I have come across some pretty random/weird stories but this one ranks up there as something you don't see everyday.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have to play the Lakers on Tuesday night, so normally they would stay at a Beverly Hills hotel frequented by NBA teams. The only issue, The Miami Heat are in town to play the Clippers and some dude name Lebron plays for them.

We get more from ESPN TrueHoop:

The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers will have an odd association for years to come and it is leading them to avoid associating with each other.

A quirk in the schedule has both the Cavs and Heat in Los Angeles for an extended period this week. But the Cavs have changed their standard travel plans in L.A. to prevent staying in the same hotel as the Heat, team officials said.

The Heat and Cavs usually stay at a landmark hotel in Beverly Hills, one frequented by visiting NBA teams. But the Cavs will be staying at another five-star hotel just a few blocks down the street this time.

Both teams are on long West Coast trips and both are scheduled to arrive in L.A. late Sunday. The Cavs, who play the Lakers on Tuesday night, are scheduled to remain in Southern California until Thursday. The Heat will be in town until Wednesday night when they play the Clippers.
I guess that whole staying away from Lebron James is taken literally after all....

Cleveland Cavaliers Offer Homeless YouTube Sensation Job

Normally, stuff that hits the That NBA Lottery Pick inbox are either of the junk variety or the random wacky happening in the NBA.

However, this story might warm the cackles of your heart. A couple days ago, a video showing a homeless man by the name of Ted Williams featuring his golden voice had gone viral.

Now, floods of job offers have come in, one of them being the Cleveland Cavaliers. We get more from NewsNet 5 in Cleveland:

A day after a homeless man from Columbus became an Internet sensation, the Cleveland Cavaliers have offered the man a job and a house, the team confirmed to NewsChannel5.

Ted Williams has become a national phenomenon overnight, and during an interview on Columbus radio station 97.9 Wednesday morning, a spokeswoman from the Cavs called in and made him the offer.

The team offered Williams full-time voiceover work with the Cavs and Quicken Loans, and also offered to pay a mortgage on a home.

“We’d like to offer you full time work with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as well as Quicken Loans Arena,” spokeswoman Tracy Marek said. “On top of it, because we know you’re a person trying to get up and on your feet, Quicken Loans is actually offering to pay a mortgage on a home.”
To think, all this might not have happened without the glory of YouTube, pray to YouTube gods you heathens.

Miami Heat Now Refer To Themselves As "The Heatles"

One of the golden rules of the NBA is that you don't give yourself a nickname unless you earned it.

Well, the Miami Heat recent hot play as of late has the team dubbing themselves with a new nickname.

We get more from The Miami Herald:

The Heat is referring to itself as the ``Heatles'' -- as in the Beatles -- these days because of the large crowds it receives on the road, said James.

``I see we sell out 99.1 percent on the road, so we call ourselves the Heatles off the Beatles, so every time we take our show on the road we bring a great crowd,'' James said.

The obvious question: So who's Paul McCartney and who's John Lennon?

``I knew that was going to be a question,'' James said. ``We're just the Heatles, man.''
Sadly, if we go by the t-shirt, Mike Miller has to be Ringo.
